With regards to our email list, here is more information:
Information collected and used for our email list
Literacy & the Law maintains a database of email subscribers who will receive our newsletter, and occasional bonus email messages and announcements. These newsletters and email messages will typically contain general news and information about civics education, and/or specific news about important upgrades and additions to the Literacy & the Law project, curriculum, and website.
We typically send newsletters or email messages quarterly (ie: once every three months), but we reserve the right to increase or decrease that frequency at any time. In the event of a major permanent increase in email frequency, we will prominently warn all subscribers and give them a chance to unsubscribe.
Our email subscriber list consists of:
- K-12 educators in the State of California whose email addresses are publicly available on the California Department of Education Public Schools Database
- Existing connections of the Literacy & the Law project — namely members of the Literacy & the Law advisory team, K-12 educators who have participated in past workshops related to Literacy & the Law, and friends of the project who are in the legal profession
- Other subscribers who have used our subscription form to opt-in to our email list
You are free to opt-in to our email list at any time. To do so, please use our subscription form. Subscribers are only asked to provide their first name and email address.
You are also free to opt-out of our mailing list at any time. To do so, the most effective method is to simply click the “Unsubscribe” link that appears prominently at the very bottom of all of our email messages.
Literacy & the Law will never sell nor distribute our email list to any third parties.
